This week at Girl Next Door Fitness, we’re celebrating a student whose journey deeply reflects what we stand for — empowerment through movement, embodiment, and unapologetic self-expression.
As a psycho-spiritual and embodiment coach, she knows the transformative power of reconnecting with the body. Her approach to pole isn't about perfection — it’s about presence. Her journey reminds us that movement is a form of healing, and pole is a practice of returning home to ourselves. In her own words:
In her own words:
“I’m a psycho-spiritual and embodiment coach where I assist women in connecting with their bodies, their sensuality and their Eros.
While connecting with my body is a daily practice, it tends to be something that’s more free-flow and it’s not done as a means to ‘look good’ — it’s for expression (especially of my emotions).
I came to dance because I wanted to learn how to move and express my body in new ways. I thought it would open my channels and expand my movement.
While I’m not a natural at dance (I have no prior history or experience with dance) it works me a lot as it’s more difficult for me to learn the moves and get them flowing. It’s like I’m cultivating new neural pathways in my body and brain.
It’s also become a practice because I can jump out of my body as I’m trying to learn the move and I ‘want to do it right’/want to get it. So it’s become a practice as I have to breathe and drop back into my body and let my body feel into the movement.”
At Girl Next Door Fitness, we believe in offering a space for every woman to explore this kind of embodiment. Whether it’s pole, floorwork, chair dance, or our twerk workout classes, each movement style is a gateway to self-expression, confidence, and reclaiming your sensuality on your own terms.
Pole isn’t just about tricks — it’s about transformation. And we’re honored to witness it, week after week. 💫💪
